Privacy policy

This policy describes how this website actually behaves. It is written to be checkable: everything claimed here can be confirmed by opening your browser's developer tools and watching the network and storage tabs while you use the calculator.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account to create, no sign-up, no newsletter, no contact form, and no login. We do not ask for your name, your email address or any detail about your business.

The figures you type into the calculator

Your costs, labour rate, margin, quantity and every other value stay on your device. The calculation runs in JavaScript inside your browser: there is no server call when you press Calculate price, and no copy of your figures is transmitted, stored remotely or seen by anyone.

While a tab is open, the page keeps your current inputs in your browser's session storage so your work survives a refresh and the results are still there if you come back to the tab. This data lives only in your own browser, is not readable by us, and is discarded by the browser when you close the tab. Pressing Reset clears it immediately.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics — no Google Analytics, no page-view counters, no heatmaps, no session recording. It carries no advertising and no tracking pixels, and it embeds no third-party scripts, fonts, or widgets. Nothing about your visit is profiled or sold, because nothing about it is collected.

Third parties

The page loads no resources from other domains. Its stylesheet, script and images are all served from this site, so no outside company receives a request simply because you opened the page.

Web server logs

Like almost every website, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard access logs, which typically record the IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs are a function of the hosting infrastructure, are used only to keep the site online and secure, and are not linked to anything you type into the calculator — they cannot be, because your figures are never sent to the server.

Features that involve your device

Copy results

Writes a plain-text summary to your clipboard. Nothing is transmitted; the text goes only where you paste it.

Print

Opens your browser's own print dialog. No copy is retained.

Share

Appears only on devices that support the operating system's share sheet. If you use it, you choose the destination, and your device — not this site — passes the text to the app you pick. That app's own privacy terms then apply.

If you email us

Choosing to write to the address on the contact page means your email, and whatever you put in it, is held in an ordinary mailbox so the message can be answered. Please do not send sensitive financial records; the figures from the calculator are enough to reproduce any result.

Children

This is a business tool with no accounts and no data collection, and it is not directed at children.

Your rights

Data-protection laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Since this site holds no personal data about its visitors, there is nothing for us to look up, export or erase. The inputs kept in your own browser are under your control: close the tab, press Reset, or clear your browser's site data.

Security

Because your figures never reach a server, there is no database of user data to breach. The site should always be served over HTTPS, which protects the page itself in transit.

Changes to this policy

If the site ever adds something that changes the picture — analytics, an embedded font, an advertisement or any third-party script — this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the effective date above will change with it.
